Last December, Edina Police officer Brandon Kuske received the department’s Distinguished Service Award for a stalking case he pursued in 2010, which took months of investigation. Kuske says the award has only been given out a handful of times since he joined the force. “All of the officers work extremely hard,” Kuske says. “It was a great honor to be recognized.”Kuske can trace his police training back to high school, when he participated in a Police Explorers program through the Boy Scouts to test his interest in law enforcement as a career. After graduation, Kuske served four years of active duty with the United States Coast Guard. He later finished his education, earning a bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University at Mankato, and a master’s degree from Concordia University in St. Paul. In 2005, Kuske joined the Edina Police Department.
