The Pink Link

Creating a chain of support for cancer, one link at a time.

After Edina graduate Jeff Troldahl lost his mother to breast cancer in 2003 and his father, a colon cancer survivor, in January 2011, he sought refuge working on bicycles. The professional artist was working through the grief of losing both his parents when an epiphany struck. “I was fitting a bicycle chain when it came to me,” Troldahl said. “We’re all connected, like the links in a chain, and we need to hold on to each other.”

Troldahl created the jewelry from recycled bicycle chains that are carefully cleaned, stripped and individually hand painted with care. “The idea is to wear a Pink Link in support of someone you love who is fighting cancer, someone you lost to cancer, or someone you know who needs your support for any reason,” Troldahl explained.

Troldahl is partnering with the Breast Cancer Awareness Association to sell the Pink Link at their events. The jewelry can also be purchased at jeffsart.com and local bike shops, with proceeds going toward cancer charities.
