Eden Avenue Grill, the cozy neighborhood eatery just west of Highway 100, just got a little cozier. The restaurant added an outdoor patio with a fireplace and retractable roof this winter, expanding seating capacity by 30 percent. Happy Edinans can now eat their grilled salmon or comfort-food special and sip red wine or a seasonal Summit with a side of snowflakes—without being deterred by Minnesota’s frigid winter weather. The infrared ceiling heat and fireplace on the outdoor patio will keep the temperature in the cozy 70s.
“People can still get the same Eden Avenue Grill experience, but now they can sit outside and watch the snow fall,” says Brett Johnson, whose family owns the restaurant. “I want people to enjoy themselves out there when it’s 10 degrees outside. The most attractive thing is that the patio has a sliding wall system and retractable roof. This is definitely something you don’t see every day.”
The outdoor patio is Eden Avenue Grill’s second makeover in recent history. Known for 19 years as the Pantry, the malt shop-style restaurant received a facelift and added a full-service bar in 1998 to become the Eden Avenue Grill.
