Edina Art Center puts Authors in the Interview Seat

Edina Art Center’s “Inside the Author’s Studio” offers an inside look at local authors.
Local writer Colin T. Nelson will interview guest authors as part of the Edina Art's Center new "Author's Studio."

Imagine having the opportunity to get inside the creative mind of your favorite author and ask them your most burning questions. The Edina Art Center is hoping to give readers this chance with their new series “The Author's Studio,” a take on the popular television series “Inside the Actor's Studio.”

Each month, the Edina Art Center will invite a local Twin Cities author to headline the program, where host and local author Colin T. Nelson will lead an interview with the author, as well as moderate a question-and-answer session with the audience. Audience members are in for an interesting dialogue, as the authors have been selected not only for their exceptional work and varied genres, but also for their unique personalities. “I'm hoping to create a bridge between the people creating the works of art and the audience, getting them to meet and get to know each other,” Nelson said.

April’s event, which will be held on April 14th at 10 a.m. in the Edina Art Center Margaret Foss Gallery, will feature mystery writer Sujata Massey. Attendance is free, but seating is limited, so reservations are required. Email or call to reserve a spot at artcenter@ci.edina.mn.us or 952.903.5780.
