HCLIB’s 'Ask Us' Service

Hennepin Country Libraries can now answer questions at the click of a button.

Have you ever wondered how long blue whales live in the wild? What the population of San Francisco, California, is? Or, if there are any books about Teddy Roosevelt at the Southdale Library? With a simple text message, all of your questions can be answered through the launch of Hennepin County Library’s “Ask Us” service.

“Ask Us” is a information service that responds to a patron’s information needs, conveniently, wherever they are. The texting service is staffed Monday–Thursday 9 a.m.–7 p.m., Friday 9 a.m.–5 p.m. (Messages received outside this time will be responded to when staff returns.)

Patrons can also use “Ask Us” in-person at the library, and by phone and via e-mail, chat, and instant messaging.
