The winner in the Images of Edina Learning category shows that learning can happen at a moment’s notice.
As many moms know, sometimes you have to get creative. When Rebecca Schmoll found a make-your-own greenhouse kit, she decided it was the perfect project for a cold winter’s day. “We used it as a learning opportunity about how plants grow,” Schmoll says.
As her three-year-old daughter planted the flower and vegetable seeds into neat rows, Schmoll whipped out her camera to capture the moment. “I like how my daughter is in the picture with her little finger on the seed, but she’s also a little blurred,” says Schmoll. Jaleah’s curiosity peaked the interest of the judges too, as it took home first place in the Learning category.
