With great sadness, beloved Edina studio Peterson Portraits closed its doors on December 31st of 2011, after capturing the stories and images of Edina residents for over 50 years.

The portrait studio, located on 50th and France, has been the go-to Edina destination for graduation, children and family, wedding, and publicity photography. Owner Clair Peterson formed the studio more than 50 years ago, and went on to earn his master’s degree of photography from the Professional Photographer’s America Association in 1963, and later served as the association’s president.

Peterson’s has always been a family affair. Peterson’s youngest son, Tim, earned a degree in fine arts from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and joined his father at the business in the mid-1970s.

“We’ll miss our neighborhood and the friends that we have made over the past decades that we have been in business,” says the staff of Peterson Portraits.
