It’s time to think outside the classic dinner-movie-drink combo, whether it’s for a first date or an evening out for a long-married duo. As the founder of Edina-based Pairings Group and a 12-year matchmaking veteran, Rolando knows a thing or two about planning the perfect fall date.
1. Take in a free concert at Edinborough Park and then head to Pinstripes for a game of bocce. “A concert and a game is the new dinner and a movie,” says Rolando.
2. Take a participation class at Cooks of Crocus Hill and enjoy beer and wine while you cook. Finish the night with an authentic Italian dessert at Arezzo Ristorante.

4. Pack a picnic basket and stroll the nature trails at Bredesen Park. “It’s beautiful in the fall and you feel like you’re in the middle of the country,” says Rolando.
