It was a scorcher of a day last summer when Paul Zdechlik’s children Charlie, 8, and Amelia, 4, took to the front-yard sprinkler to cool down. Seeing his kids drink up the water in the later afternoon sun, former professional videographer Zdechlik grabbed his camera, put on a long lens, turned on the sport shutter to capture every droplet of water, and snapped away. Judges found this photo refreshing, too, as “Drinking Up Summer” took home top honors in the Raising Families category.
