With just less than a thousand students enrolled, Minnesota State University Mankato at Edina has made huge strides this fall semester to increase enrollment and provide exceptional degree programs and learning environments.
Professor of educational leadership and director of Edina site management and development Candace Raskin attributes this increased enrollment to the affordable, flexible and relevant class options that continue to evolve. This fall, MSUM at Edina became the first higher learning institute in the nation to offer an academic and behavioral specialist (ABS) master’s degree program, a cross-categorical special education license.
The recent addition of their tele-presence classroom has made history. This is the first classroom in the nation taught through live interfacing and broadcast from a Mankato classroom onto high-definition paneling. This technology enables students from Mankato and Edina who have class simultaneously to feel as though they’re in the same room, interact with each other and ask questions directly to their professor.
