She might be the new girl on the block, but Katie Egan, new owner of il Vostro Boutique at 50th and France, is no stranger to the world of fashion. The 26-year-old Minnesota native graduated from Wayzata High School in 2002. She then spent five years in Manhattan working in various fashion positions: in wholesale for designer Tia Cibani, in planning for Lord and Taylor department store, and as a sales manager traveling to trade shows to sell merchandise to designers. Cute, stylish and youthful, this fashionista is also a business-savvy economics grad from Colgate University. So when Egan returned to Minnesota as il Vostro’s previous owner, Stacey Finnegan, was selling shop in July 2010, she decided to take over the store and added business owner to her list of credentials.
Il Vostro Boutique features outfits for all occasions and carries fashion lines including Three Dots, Hazel and BB Dakota, among others. New looks for spring include eclectic designs from Italian-made Re.Set, offerings from New York-based Rachel Antonoff, and high-waisted belts from L.A. Because Katie buys straight from New York, the new il Vostro proves to be both unique and on-trend, styling all ages and shapes on an affordable budget.
