Get your credit cards ready because Edina’s historic mall, Southdale Center, is receiving a facelift this season with the opening of three new retail shops, just in time for holiday shopping.
First on deck: Herberger’s. The regional department store is now occupying the space formerly held by Mervyn’s. The discount retailer, which carries name brands at affordable prices, offers a fantastic selection of designer beauty products, including Fashion Fair brand skin care and makeup (their Daily Moisture Cream ($26) is the magical cure for dry winter skin).
Next up is Michael Kors, the celeb-favorite brand behind the popular American sportswear look. Pick up a pair of Jada Ankle Boot ($198) and be fashionably heeled this winter.
Lastly is Francesca’s Collections, a boutique-inspired retailer that boasts a “unique shopping experience by taking inspiration from travelers who search the world for beautiful luxuries.” Their chic threads, such as the cozy Archaeology Wrap ($38), will surely soon be seen on the backs of Edina’s fashionable women.
