Ladies, ever decide on the spur of the moment to go out and give your hair a gorgeous blowout? Don’t you think you deserve to be pampered and loved, whether or not you’ve made a reservation?
Now you can, at the WOW Bar on 50th and France, which opened in August. The latest Twin Cities “blowout bar” is owned by Jason Deavalon, who is known for his previous hairstyling in Minneapolis’ Uptown neighborhood. Deavalon worked with José Eber in Los Angeles in the early 1990s and styled celebrities such as Elizabeth Taylor.
“You can just pop in and get a gorgeous, professional blowout,” says Alyssa Caplan, WOW Bar’s marketing coordinator. On the East and West coasts, she added, blow-dry bars are very common, but have only recently arrived in Minnesota.
Deavalon trained all 12 of WOW Bar’s stylists through intensive, eight-week courses, so that when you visit, “the people we have working for us will be like your own personal stylist,” promises Caplan.
WOW Bar is open seven days a week; walk-ins and appointments are both encouraged. Basic blowouts cost $35.
