Water, Water, Everywhere

A story about Dow Water & Process Solutions reminds me of a poem.

The Rime of the Ancient Mariner

By Samuel Taylor Coleridge, published 1798

 … Day after day, day after day,

We stuck, nor breath nor motion;

As idle as a painted ship

Upon a painted ocean.

Water, water, every where,

And all the boards did shrink;

Water, water, every where,

Nor any drop to drink. …

I had to memorize this poem back in high school, and today, as I was writing my story for the September issue of Edina Magazine, the lines came to mind and I kept saying over and over in my head:

Water, water, every where, nor any drop to drink …”
