Beatles fans rejoice! The Galleria will host a display and sale of John Lennon’s artwork December 9-11. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to view and purchase collector’s items that include a limited edition of serigraphs, lithographs, copper etching of drawings, and song lyrics. Many of the approximately 100 pieces from the Lennon collection have never been shown in the Twin Cities.
The event will not only honor the anniversary of the legendary singer, songwriter, peace activist, artist and Beatles member’s tragic death (December 8, 1980), but it will benefit children in need. Encouraged donations will go towards Smile Network International, a Minnesota-based global humanitarian organization that provides life-altering reconstructive surgeries and healthcare services to children in developing countries.
To honor Lennon and his song Give Peace a Chance, those who attend are encouraged to write wishes for peace on decorative cards to hang on the Galleria’s Wishing Tree. Following the event, the cards are scheduled to be delivered directly to Yoko Ono. A donation amount of $2 is suggested.
