Helping high school youth succeed in different aspects of life is something Becky Briggs truly loves. Last spring, Briggs received a Connecting with Kids leadership award. This is an honor given in recognition of a significant commitment on behalf of youth.
Briggs has worked with the Access and STRIVE programs for a number of years. She’s helped students find drivers’ education courses, proofread papers and supported college counselors by helping students fill out applications, write essays, etc. Although her own children are now out of college, Briggs has always enjoyed working with her children’s friends and doing a bit of tutoring. “I love the people that I work with and working with people from different populations and backgrounds,” says Briggs.
Visit the Connecting with Kids website to nominate someone for this award. Honorees will be recognized at a Leadership Award Breakfast on March 3 at the Edina Country Club.
