Edina’s annual food, wine and craft beer experience” is what Taste of Edina is all about, according to Erica Hollom, director of operations for Edina Chamber of Commerce.
Edina Liquors partners with the Edina Chamber of Commerce to host the annual event. There are also sponsors to help with the event such as this year’s presenting sponsor, U.S. Bank FlexPerks. The Taste of Edina features booths from various local restaurants with samples to try.
After a change in location a few years ago, the event started a contest where chefs from the local restaurants create dishes that are judged by people well-known in the Twin Cities food community. This year’s emcee will be Tim McNiff, former KARE 11 anchor.
Celebrity judges are Antonio Cecconi from the Italian Gourmet, Restaurant Finance Monitor and Foodservice News columnist Dennis Monroe and Sue Zelickson, Minnesota Monthly food columnist and WCCO radio host.
Competing chefs include Nathan Soberg from McCormick & Schmick’s at the Galleria, Alex Armour from Lela Restaurant and defending champion Abby Randall from the Tomato Vine.
Tickets are $40 and include admission as well as food and beverage samples. Save $5 when you purchase tickets in person at any Edina Liquor store.
