Edina Eagle Scout Gives Gift of Music

Quinn Lewis will redistribute used music books to schools in need for his Eagle Scout Project

Quinn Lewis has been involved with scouting since around the first or second grade, starting as a Cub Scout. Now he is on his way to becoming an Eagle Scout.

“[It’s] this fantastic achievement,” he says.
Quinn’s Eagle Scout project focuses on redistributing used music books to schools in need. By partnering with Vega Company Musical Instruments, a nonprofit that redistributes instruments, Quinn is able to see which schools could use new texts. Quinn  focused on collecting donations from all across the Twin Cities and ultimately gathered 450 music books.
He credits his mom, Sarah, for helping out with the project. Sarah is part of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and saw that many music books were left unused after someone stopped playing an instrument. “She was a huge inspiration,” he says.
