The Edina Federated Women’s Club, which was “founded on friendship and strengthened by service”, will hold its Fed’s Fest fundraiser on January 4 at the Westin Galleria. Tickets to the event cost $100 per person. Two years ago the Women’s Club raised nearly $50,000 at their gala, which benefited a variety of good causes in the Minneapolis area.
Founded in 1969, the 90-member club is part of an international organization that dates back to 1890 and boasts more than 100,000 members worldwide. The Federated Women’s Club helped establish 75 percent of the nation’s libraries by 1930 and promotes all aspects of family life, current issues, community well being and hands-on service.
Throughout the years, Edina Federated Women’s Club philanthropic endeavors have produced a 24-year-run of the widely popular Santa House, two Miniature Doll House Exhibits and Arti Gras with the community Art Center. This year’s benefit “Carnivale” will feature live and silent auctions, a party table, wine wall, mystery boxes, “heads or tails” and gourmet dinner.
