Edina Library Opens after Renovation

The new Edina Library is a beautiful, updated space for all to enjoy.
The first thing that stands out is the openness. “I see people walking much deeper into the library,” says librarian Maureen Millea Smith. “It feels like the whole building is theirs.” And with a collection of 66,000 books, DVDs, music and world language items, there is much to explore.
Stained-glass windows, made by late artist William Saltzman, portray beautiful nature scenes. Some even claim Saltzman put his face in the stained-glass moon. “We really opened up the children’s area,” Millea Smith says, making Saltzman’s art more visible.
Part of the remodel focused on the parking lot, making it more accessible to patrons with disabilities. The new Edina Library is a beautiful, updated space for all to enjoy.
