Fall Family Fun at 50th and France

Annual Pumpkin Festival offers lots of Halloween amusement.
Have a devil of a good time at the annual Pumpkin Festival on October 25 at 50th and France.

Fairies, witches and warriors unite at the annual Pumpkin Festival at 50th and France on October 25. The event pleases creatures of all ages, with trick-or-treating for the kids at local shops, face painting, balloon twisters, a cake walk, horse-drawn trolley rides, pin the face on the pumpkin, and, of course, killer costumes and a contest to choose the best of the best. In previous years, there has also been a monsters and minions zone. For Rachel Thelemann, executive director of the 50th and France Business Association, the costumes are always a highlight of the occasion. The event promotes togetherness and offers a fun and easy alternative to traditional trick-or-treating. “It’s a fun community event,” Thelemann says. “I enjoy watching people engage with their community.” Trick-or-treating begins at 10 a.m. All other activities take place between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Hot beverages will be provided courtesy of Caribou Coffee, but make sure to bring along a bucket or bag to fill with Halloween treats because this spooky adventure comes complete with handfuls of chocolate.
