Grabbagreen seems to be a hit. Opened in April, Grabbagreen is a fast-food restaurant with healthy options. Every dish is GMO-, preservative- and gluten-free, and 50 percent of the food is organic, according to Morgan Vanderwall at Grabbagreen. It’s a “place to go on the go,” she says.
The healthy options are what make Grabbagreen different from most restaurants. Vanderwall says many restaurants offer only one or two gluten-free or GMO-free meals, but at Grabbagreen, every meal is like that. “Grabbagreen is not only a healthy option, but it takes the nutrition- and calorie-counting out,” says Vanderwall. “Customers don’t have to worry about what they are eating.”
The Edina location is the first Grabbagreen in Minnesota and the Midwest, with the development deal by franchisee Rocky Osborn of Zoom Healthy, Inc. Osborn, a Minnesota native, became involved on a golf trip with a friend in Arizona, the birthplace of Grabbagreen. He tried the food there and thought about how there were no options similar to it in the Twin Cities. This inspired him to launch a local Grabbagreen. Osborn thought it would appeal to the Minnesota demographic.
“There’s no unhealthy choices,” he says. Everything is prepared fresh and on the spot.
The menu includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as fresh-pressed juices and smoothies. There’s also a children’s menu. With the “Grab Your Own” option, customers can customize their own dishes.
Grabbagreen originated in 2013 when two moms who ate healthily at home wanted options for their kids on the go. Now, there are 22 locations across the nation. It’s expected that 20 more stores will open in 2017.Grabbagreen seems to be a hit. Opened in April, Grabbagreen is a fast-food restaurant with healthy options.
