Library improvements foster a love for learning.
Last year, Friends of the Edina Library raised more than $14,000 through private donations and book sales to improve the Edina Library children’s area. “It was our 50th anniversary and we wanted to do something big,” says Leslie Kraus, longtime member of Friends of the Edina Library. Upgrades, completed in January, include accessible book bins, a LEGO collection and learning center activity items. Since improvements were made, youth services librarian Tracy Hvezda-Lehtola has seen circulation increase, noting that families are staying longer and exploring different parts of the library.
