Maren Hoffman is an Edina hockey, soccer and dance mom with a spirited Minnesota past. She’s danced for the Gophers dance team and was a cheerleader for the Minnesota Vikings. During that time, Hoffman says she met “the best girlfriends in the world” and her college sweetheart, Shawn, a former Gophers linebacker.
“After we got married and after the Vikings, I kind of had a ‘baby bucket list of things I wanted to do before having children,” Hoffman says. When running long distances began to affect her joints, Maren turned to yoga for a lower-impact activity. “After our first child was born, I got an itch to go back into the workforce,” and began to train with Corepower Yoga’s eight-week intensive course. She says, “It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It really married my wonderful love for dance and working, and then paying it forward.” Hoffman has been teaching Vinyasa, sculpt, and restorative yoga at Corepower for the past five years and manages Studio 925 Yoga, which offers on-site workplace yoga classes.
When Maren isn’t working, she’s busy caring for her son Henry, who is almost a year old, and his big sisters Nora, age 7, and Mae, age 4.
She says, “The neighbors and friends that we have made [in Edina] have been the best, and we can’t imagine being anywhere but here. We really feel like this is home.”
