Designer Hubert de Givenchy once stated that one’s hairstyle is the final tip-off as to whether or not a woman truly knows herself. Hair is the richest ornament of a woman, according to Martin Luther, and the philosopher Plato quipped that a fine head of hair adds beauty to a good face, and terror to an ugly one. History tells us that hair has always been an important aspect of a person’s appearance, and now there’s no excuse for bad hair days—thanks to the opening of two hot new salons in the 50th and France neighborhood.
“Bespoke” refers to the English tradition of something being custom-made, or personalized to fit a client’s own taste. Bespoke Hair Artisans takes this concept and applies it to every customer that walks into the modern oasis, greeted by sparkling chandeliers and cozy wood floors. This salon values the beauty of details.
Salon director Lisa Williams and co-owner Margaret Menke-Ayache aimed to create a salon with high-level service and vibrant design. “We want to enhance the natural beauty that every person inherently possesses,” says Williams. “There is no one look that works for all.”
Bespoke offers select spa services in addition to hair styling and color, such as brow threading, a variety of facials, waxing and makeup application.

After 25 years in the business, owner Heike Ciardelli says that it was time to bring a touch of New York City to Edina. After all, a trip to Tribeca Salon is cheaper than a trip to NYC, and it might just have the same effect.
Designed to echo the look of the famed lofts of the Tribeca neighborhood, this salon’s arched window and exposed brick walls add to the trendy yet peaceful vibe. The salon carries Pureology and cult-favorite brand Moroccan Oil. Even better? During the winter months, Tribeca Hair Salon will be offering ½ price color service with select stylists for first time clients.
