For the first time, we took the Images of Edina photo contest and put some of the power in your hands. We threw all of the photo entries up on edinamag.com and asked you to stop by and vote for your favorite. Countless clicks later and voila! A new star was born. Perhaps it’s his piercing eyes, maybe the wry smile, or possibly, because of that great head of hair. Whatever the reason, you loved Britt Rogers’ photograph of a neighborhood fox, most of all.
“Our house backs up to a wetland near Pamela Park, and we see a fair amount of wildlife,” explains Rogers. “I was in our porch and I saw this perfect little red fox trotting near the frozen pond. I grabbed my camera and when I came to the window, he stopped in his tracks and looked up at me right as I was preparing to shoot.” This lucky moment resulted in Rogers taking home the inaugural Images of Edina Readers’ Choice award.
