Suzetra Sets Up Shop

50th and France boutique Suzetra offers something for shoppers of all ages.
Suzetra owner Susie Peterson sports a tank top, shirt and jewelry she sells in her new store at 50th and France.

Susie Peterson always dreamed of opening her own women’s clothing shop. As a retail buyer specializing in purchasing and procurement in Arizona for over a decade, Peterson finally made the jump to boutique owner after moving back to Minnesota.

Enter Suzetra, Peterson’s one-stop shop for anything from cocktail wear to career separates, and everything in between. Located on 50th and France, Peterson describes the store as “multigenerational,” one where both a mother and daughter can shop together.

The shop, which opened on Black Friday last year, has received a warm welcome from neighbors and other retailers in the area, a “great location” as Peterson calls it. “It caters to a wide variety of people, from full-time moms to young career girls,” she says.

Reasonable prices are a priority for Peterson, who offers jeans from $80 to $185, as well as a line of the perfect black pants for no higher than $45. “Not everyone can [always] afford the boutique prices, but they still want that look,” Peterson says.

The store is stocked with a mix of well-know brands, such as Fidelity Denim and Samuel Dong, along with some lesser-known lines. Shoppers can expect to see bold prints, some florals and bright colors popping up on the racks for spring.

With an eye for unique, wearable clothes and accessories, Peterson has made it her mission to help shoppers find the perfect item. “If something doesn’t look good on you, I’ll try my best to find something that does,” Peterson said.
