Anybody with the pleasure of meeting Gwen Hagen and Ann Rethlake will easily see that their passion for creating unique floral arrangements stems from something deeper than a love of gardening, it takes root from their 16-year friendship.
Edina natives Hagen and Rethlake opened Everything In Place Design in April 2011. With their kids in college and high school, both felt that the timing was perfect for a new adventure. Run out of the comfort of their homes, Everything In Place Designs produces a variety of floral arrangements year round; from centerpieces for a dinner party to outdoor pots, they do it all.
“We like to be creative and different,” said Rethlake. “The changing seasons keep things interesting.”
Thinking spring? So are Hagen and Rethlake, who are already toying with new ways to incorporate different flowers, colors and textures together in combinations that most people wouldn’t expect. Some of their favorite springtime flowers include calla lilies, Star of Bethlehem and hyacinth.
Due to the late spring opening last year, they are looking forward to helping people spruce up their yards with outdoor pots, and doing more graduation parties, as well as arrangements for Mother’s Day and dinner parties. “We would love to do a wedding too,” said Hagen.
