“Women learn differently,” believes Claudia Ryan Mosley, whose project Women, Wisdom & Wine (womenwisdomandwine.com) is a new conversation series designed for and dedicated to women and information. “When you’re in a comfortable setting without the external challenges of the day in front of you, that presents an easier learning environment for women.”
The nine-session series (which breaks from June-August) meets on the third Wednesday of every month and explores topics that vary from “winemaking” to “women in business” to “human trafficking”. Women, Wisdom & Wine’s pillar issues since debuting in January include health, finance, international affairs and the culinary arts. “Culinary/Recreation” is on tap for September, and “women in politics” follows in October, just before the presidential election.
“Today’s women are busier than ever,” states the project’s website. “Between work, family, exercise, community service and health, time for personal growth and development is virtually nonexistent. However, in this age of readily accessible information, the more you know really does increase the desire to know more. The Women, Wisdom & Wine Series will help you learn about current issues. Why hasn’t the U.S. pulled out of Afghanistan? Why is heart disease more prevalent in women than men? Am I fit enough to try an “adventure” vacation?”
