The cure for a boring summer afternoon? A photo adventure around Edina, of course. That’s exactly what Matt Casey and his friend Charlie had in mind when they set out one day last summer. As they explored the tunnel that runs across the train tracks under West 70th Street, Casey snapped this picture, which won Images of Edina’s people category.
“The focal point is Charlie and the whole picture draws your eyes towards him,” says Casey. “It’s really powerful, your eyes are just drawn to this silhouette.” Casey has been an avid photographer since his junior high and high school days at a local arts school. “I take my own pictures and then I mix them together,” says Casey.
Casey’s photography skills should come in hand especially during his next adventure–traveling around the Caribbean. “I decided I’m only young once and I might as well do it while I can,” says Casey. “I really want to travel the world and be inspired by different things and people.”
