Edina Art Center's Annual Gala

Margaret Foss Gallery hosts annual juried show
"Art adds to our experience as human individuals," says Michael Frey, Edina Art Center's interim director.

Which local works of art will grace the Margaret Foss Gallery this fall?

The Edina Art Center annual members’ juried show is rapidly approaching. Don’t miss the big event. On Thursday, Sept. 27, from 5-8 p.m., two judges who have sifted through over 250 entries will unveil 75-90 works of all mediums that will hang in the gallery through the end of October. The gala evening is open to the public and will feature food and a jazz trio.

The Art Center’s new interim director Michael Frey will preside over the 28th annual event this year. Frey ascended to the position a year ago after working for the art center for 15 years.

“The arts are all about enriching the lives of the citizens of the community,” said Frey. “Art adds to our experience as human individuals and our interactions with each other. Artists present art in way that makes us look at the world differently.”

The juried show is the Edina Art Center’s largest event and exhibition of the year and also serves as a fundraiser.

“It’s a wonderful showcase of the beautiful work that our members create and exhibit,” Frey said.
