Edina High Wins Education Award

Edina High tops Minnesota schools, receives Music Education award.

Students walking through the doors of Edina High School (EHS) this fall can take pride in knowing that, for the second year in a row, Newsweek this past spring rated Edina as the best high school in Minnesota, and 154th in the nation based on factors including graduation rates, college matriculation rates, and a variety of standardized test scores. EHS was ranked second in Minnesota and number 234 nationwide by U.S. News and World Report.

“At the end of the day, this recognition reflects the great job our teachers are doing in the classroom to establish rigor, rapport and relationships with our students,” says EHS principal Bruce Locklear.

Meanwhile, the Edina school district was named one of the “Best Communities for Music Education in America” by the NAMM Foundation, a nonprofit devoted to advancing participation in music. School districts were judged based on their music curriculum, program and public support.
