This Creek Valley icon wins a photo contest nod.
Sometimes the best photos can be taken in the most obvious of places.
Take, for example, the winner of last year’s “Doing Business” category in the annual Images of Edina photo contest: Creek Valley Water Tower was taken in autumn 2011 at the Edina water tower near photographer Lisa Hafey’s home. The water tower is repainted every 15 to 20 years, so Hafey was able to see this transformation as only a few residents do—and she captured it for posterity here. “I knew it’d be a great time to capture that moment in Edina history,” she says.
The image also exemplifies beauty “in the eye of the beholder,” and it provides an interesting take on the “Doing Business” category.
