Residents at the Edina Park Plaza retirement home received a wonderful surprise on Grandparents’ Day in September. Bakers Square, which boasts 14 Minnesota locations, delivered its delicious pies to 10 retirement homes around the Midwest, including 20 to Edina Park Plaza.
“We were thrilled to be able to offer the pies to the elderly community for Grandparents’ Day,” says Bakers Square regional vice president Dave Rawn. “Bakers Square values family and tradition and was happy to make this holiday a little bit brighter for so many esteemed grandparents.”
At Edina Park Plaza, lifestyle program director Rebecca Putz and other staff members handed them out to senior residents. Flavors included strawberry, French silk, apple, chocolate peanut butter, cherry, pecan, triple berry, pumpkin, blueberry and lemon supreme. Residents were delights, says Putz. In addition to the pies, Bakers Square also delivered a stack of 50 $5 gift cards for residents.
