The Edina Parent Communication Network (PCN) welcomes speaker Erin Walsh to the podium for its upcoming forum, Fostering Self-Discipline in a Culture of Instant Gratification. Each year, the PCN offers five community forums that address the social, academic and personal development of young people. “The PCN strives to present speakers who share relevant and compelling information that supports caregivers and educators in helping youth develop life skills,” explains PCN president Michele Gatien.
This month’s forum, set for April 22, will focus on nurturing resilient youth in a predominantly digital age. Guest speaker Erin Walsh has addressed audiences on topics related to brain development and the influential role of media and technology in kids’ lives. In this forum, Walsh will explain how to use this information to better understand and communicate with today’s young people.
