For one weekend every year, the streets of the 50th and France neighborhood welcome promising local and national artists to the annual Edina Art Fair, which takes place May 31 through June 2. Celebrating its 47th year, the art fair hosts more than 300 artists, whose work ranges from painting and photography to jewelry and sculpture. What’s more, the Edina Art Fair was recently ranked No. 32 in the country by the Art Fair Source Book. This year’s event will feature a community art project in the US Bank parking lot. Acoustic musical performances will be held throughout the fair in both food courts, in addition to a variety of strolling entertainment including the Chicks on Sticks Stage Choir and a unicycle club. The Kids Art Zone will expand to include a bouncy house, along with a variety of hands-on art projects for children of all ages. A silent auction in the Edina 50 Mall corridor will include artwork donated by fair artists. And the show doesn’t stop there. When the pangs of hunger strike, Andrew Zimmern’s food truck will serve delectable bites such as crispy pork belly with papaya salad, oyster and crab gumbo and a refreshing Jamaican hibiscus punch. This is one event you won’t want to miss. Visit the Edina Art Fair webpage for more information at edinaartfair.com.
