Get to Know Edina’s Susan Stiles

Meet a businesswoman in our community.

Susan Stiles is the president and founder of Stiles Financial Services, Inc. in Edina, where she also lives. We spoke with her to learn a little bit about her life outside the office.

What is your favorite thing to do when you’re not working?

Entertaining! I love to cook, I love to entertain—friends, family, you name it. I am an avid cook, and I love wine, so I love feeding people, giving them good wine and listening to music.

Give us some inspiration. What’s the best part about an Edina winter?

The snow. The lights. Love it. Absolutely love it.

Favorite food around the holidays?

Anyone who has been to my house knows that you never have the same thing twice. But the one dish that I do often like to make around Christmas and New Year’s is paella [a Spanish dish with rice, meat, saffron and other seasonings]. My mother is from Madrid, so I grew up with that food. It’s just one of those special dishes, so I make some sangria with it and have everyone over.

What is your favorite aspect of the Edina community?

Edina is a small town in a big town. It is big enough that you can buzz around and get lost, yet small enough that you can go places and run into friends and catch up and get connected. It just has this wonderful family and belonging kind of feel to it. Plus, being from New York, what sold me on Edina was the proximity to the airport!
