Centennial Lakes Park acquires a custom made heirloom-quality clock.
This month, a new two-faced, 16-foot-tall clock will be installed near the front entrance of the Hughes Pavilion at Centennial Lakes Park. This custom timepiece is a gift to Edina from the Rotary Club of Edina. The club commissioned the work from Verdin Clock Co., a family-owned business that has manufactured clocks in Ohio since 1842.
The clock is in honor of the Edina quasquicentennial (its 125th anniversary) and to celebrate the Rotary Club’s long-standing relationship with the city. “It was our chance to give back,” says Steve Slyce, president of the Rotary Club of Edina.
