Lego Mania

Teams form in Edina for FIRST Lego League.

Today they’re building robots; tomorrow they’ll change the way we do business. That’s the inspiration for FIRST Lego League, which includes Edina students in fourth through sixth grades at Concord, Cornelia, Countryside and Creek Valley, working together to master skills and concepts in science, technology, engineering and math—all using Lego models. Teams presented their concepts during a FIRST Lego League expo at Valley View Middle School in December, which Laurie Shimizu, volunteer coordinator for the Minnesota FIRST robotics competition, describes as a “science fair with Legos.”
