Summer is a good time to recharge and reconnect with yourself. At Blooma, a yoga and wellness studio in neighboring southwest Minneapolis dedicated to nurturing the minds, bodies and spirits of women, your perfect summer Zen might be right around the corner—literally. Owner Sarah Longacre Ehlers explains Blooma was “born and raised in Edina” right on 44th and France, but in 2012, they outgrew their space and moved a couple of miles away. This fall, Blooma enters its ninth year of serving moms-to-be, new mamas and their families through yoga and barre classes, massage, childbirth education and more.
With warm weather and outdoor adventures beckoning, it’s easy to forget about the importance of getting on your yoga mat. But coming into the studio on a summer day “can feel really nurturing and helps slow mom down,” Longacre says.
Although you don’t have to be a mom to enjoy classes at Blooma (dads, grandparents and nannies are welcome), the studio is dedicated to making life easier for moms of babies and tots. Every day of the week, Babywearing Barre and BYOB (bring your own baby) classes let moms work out while bonding with baby. For young yogis, there are classes specifically for toddlers to tweens. Childcare is available onsite, Monday through Friday.
