Learn to play tennis with professional players at Edina Country Club
Looking for something new to try this summer? Why not tennis?
According to Greg Wicklund, head tennis pro at the Edina Country Club, there are three reasons people should learn to play tennis. Exercise is important, the game builds focus and concentration, and it’s fun. “The physical and the mental are the two keys,” Wicklund says.
Edina Country Club offers lessons for its members of all ages, and Wicklund is one of its tennis instructors. Wicklund began playing tennis in 10th grade and went on to play at the University of Minnesota, becoming a Big Ten champ in 1981. The next year, he started working at the country club and has been there ever since helping others learn the sport he loves. “[Working at the club] is fun, it’s like a hobby, it’s not even like a job,” Wicklund says.
