If you’ve been looking for ways to reduce, reuse and recycle this spring, what better time to start than on Earth Day? On April 22, celebrate the holiday with your kids by brainstorming ways to be earth-friendly in your household. Made with items you already have lying around, this simple craft from Erica Berken at Countryside Kids Club will help teach tots how going green can be creative and a blast, to boot!
Recycled Sea Life Creatures Craft
Use your imagination to make an octopus, squid, sea anemone and more.
To complete the craft, you’ll need:
-empty paper towel tube
-tacky glue
-paint and brush
-wiggle eyes
-hole punch
-construction paper
To make the legs of your creature, cut strips down one side of the cardboard tube, and bend or curl the pieces around a marker. Paint the tube a solid color or add spots, stripes, or circles of construction paper (using the hole punch) to add flair to your animal. Lastly, glue on the wiggle eyes to make your creature come to life.
