The Westin Edina Galleria has livened up its lobby with a new bar and lounge. The original lobby vibe was relaxed and serene; the updated space, called Prelude, is sophisticated and clean, but also inspiring and energizing. This new space is intended to be the perfect fit for the start of a productive morning and the begining of an eventful evening.
Prelude offers a different experience from McCormick & Schmick’s, the restaurant attached to the Westin Edina. If the popular restaurant fills up during happy hour, hotel guests can opt for Prelude, a quieter atmosphere perfect, for example, for a group of business people taking a short timeout from a project.
The space was designed by the original hotel designers, ESG Architects, who partnered with Gettys Group Design of Chicago. This modern and vibrant space includes a large community work table to mix business with pleasure, and a chic bar and two TVs . Prelude offers breakfast, small bites throughout the day, Starbucks coffee and a full bar. Their wines, in particular, are something to behold. Using the Coravin wine system, which captures the wine from a small needle through the cork, the bar is able to offer much higher-quality wines without risk of losing freshness before they are sold.
This new addition to the Westin Edina lobby has already received great feedback from guests, especially the professional groups who have found a seamless transition from work mode to play mode. It is no wonder the Westin Edina is ranked first in guest satisfaction in the country, second worldwide. According to hotel staff, each piece of feedback is acted upon, which is how they are able to stay on top of what their guests really want.
