Summer Farmers Market Opens at Centennial Lakes

Centennial Lakes Park bustles with the excitement of a summer farmers market on Thursday afternoons and evenings. Look for Picha Farms, Tibetan Momo, Great Harvest Bread and other favorite vendors. It’s hard to resist a tempting mix of ready-made food and take-home goods—good thing ample free parking is so conveniently close.
The farmers market showcases farm-fresh Minnesota-grown produce and food products. July is peak season for corn, beets, radishes, green beans, kohlrabi and summer-bearing raspberries. Eating happy and healthy comes easy here. “It’s probably the most beautiful space for a farmers market in the state, with lots of alternate activities,” Tom Shirley, general manager of Centennial Lake Park, says.
Pedestrian-friendly paths, paddle boats, miniature golf, movie night and plenty of seating (even swinging chairs) offer something for the whole family. Now in its eighth year, the Centennial Lakes Farmers Market runs from 3–7 p.m. every Thursday through Sept. 28.
