Time to Plan a Porch Party

With the sun shining brightly and the snow finally behind us, it’s time to think about entertaining on the porch or patio again. Call up your friends and neighbors and invite them over to kick back with happy hour cocktail on your patio. Maybe throw some grub on the grill and you’ve got yourself a porch party.

Impress those porch party guests with this top-notch lemon drop martini recipe from Peter Blattner, assistant general manager at Pittsburgh Blue in Edina. “All you really need is vodka, a couple of lemons, and some rosemary,” says Blattner. Super simple and super chic. Cheers!

LEMON DROP MARTINI

4 oz. citrus vodka
1 oz. fresh lemon juice
1 oz. rosemary simple syrup (make this ahead to have on hand)

Combine ingredients in a martini shaker filled with ice. Shake and pour into glasses rimmed with sugar. Garnish with a rosemary sprig.

ROSEMARY SIMPLE SYRUP

2 cups sugar
1 cup water
1 small sprig of rosemary

Add all ingredients to a large saucepan. Bring to boil over medium high heat. Allow to cool. Strain into a container and reserve for porch party cocktails.
