You’ll learn how to make 3 unique pop-up valentine cards to send to your loved ones. Fun and accessible to many developmental levels, this hour-long workshop is open to all ages. The Hip Hop Nutcracker

A holiday mash-up for the whole family, directed and choreographed by Jennifer Weber, The Hip Hop Nutcracker recorded live at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center is a contemporary dance spectacle set to Tchaikovsky’s timeless music. A unique and joyful event, this evening-length production is performed by a supercharged cast of a dozen all-star dancers, a DJ, a violinist, and MC Kurtis Blow, one of hip hop’s founding fathers, who opens the show with a short set. Sounds of Blackness presents The Night Before Christmas: In Concert

The Night Before Christmas: In Concert brings Soulful Santa, Mrs. Claus, Santa’s Fine Reindeer, and the famous Dancing Chitlins to life with show-stopping, roof-raising music, in styles ranging from R&B and hip hop, to jazz, blues, and gospel, in a contemporary adaptation of the beloved holiday classic poem “A Visit from St. Nicholas.” Sounds of Blackness holiday favorite hits “Joy of Christmas,” and “Soul Holidays,” are featured, along with arrangements of classic carols like “Silent Night” and “O Come, All Ye Faithful.” Read more about Sounds of Blackness presents The Night Before Christmas: In Concert

Twin Cities Jazz Fest Master Class Series: Ernest Bisong & Greg Byers

Twin Cities Jazz Fest, in partnership with MacPhail Center for Music, present the Twin Cities Jazz Fest Master Class Series featuring Ernest Bisong and Greg Byers.

Classically trained violinist Ernest Bisong is considered by many as a rising star on the jazz music scene in the Twin Cities. He continues to further the course of the genre by providing a fresh perspective on improvisation and harmony as he demonstrates mastery of the bebop language through a unique lens on his violin.
