Join author and tech-savvy Abby Stokes to learn how to safely surf the Internet during a free program on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at Covenant Village of Golden Valley, a senior living community located at 5800 St. Croix Ave. N., Golden Valley. 

During “How to Safely Surf the Internet,” Stokes will offer tips to protect online identity and address concerns about mobile banking and online shopping for a safer Internet experience. She will also discuss how to prevent becoming a victim of an online scam and recommend reputable websites to visit for information on health, finance, travel and more.

She is the author of “Is This Thing On? A Friendly Guide to Everything Digital” and a former instructor at Cooper Union and New York University’s School of Lifelong Learning. Stokes has helped nearly 250,000 people understand the latest technology and learn to navigate the Internet, tablets, smartphones, computers and email.
