The Inclusivi-tee Fundraiser for the Ubuntu Village will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 1-6 p.m. at the Costa Rica Ballroom (816 Mainstreet Hopkins, MN 55343). Inclusivi-tee, a recently launched, locally-based t-shirt-subscription club that donates 100 percent of its profits to progressive nonprofits, will be raising funds and awareness for the Ubuntu Village of New Orleans, which supports incarcerated youth and their communities. The event will feature food, drinks, and live musical performances from Teghan Devon, Mari Harris, Jamie Carter, Cassie Banks, and Fritz Hoehn, The DeMasi Brothers, Alex Tulp, and Elliot Sharpe. Attendees will also have the chance to see a breakdancing demonstration from Daniel Rosas and participate in an artist-inspired raffle with art donations from Ta-coumba Aiken, Ray Caron, Deb McBride, Rebecca Ramirez, Toree Jones, and the Coasta Rica Ballroom. Co-sponsored by the Lake Fellowship of Universalists Church, the event will also be collecting black socks, toothpaste, books, journals, and art supplies for youth ages 14 to 21 in addition to monetary donations.
