Celebrate
Jazz Appreciation Month with some of Minnesota’s most notable jazz legends,
hosted by Patty Peterson (award
winning vocalist and KBEM Radio host) in an intimate afternoon of live music
and inspiring stories. Presented by Jazz 88, this special concert will be held
at the Minnesota History Center on Sunday, May 7, 2017,
2:00-3:30pm. Tickets are $20 for adults, $16 for MNHS members, $10 for ages
5-17, and may be purchased on line at: http://www.mnhs.org/event/2350. For ticket information
call: 651-259-3015.

 Patty
will reminisce with several Twin Cities’ jazz legends, who have achieved local
and national acclaim. Among these notable are Carei Thomas (Piano), Steve
Blons
(Guitar), Dean Brewington
(Sax), George Avaloz (Drums/Vocals),
Kenny Horst (Drums), and Betty Palmer (Vocals).

These Jazz Legends will be accompanied by the Phil Aaron Trio, featuring
Phil Aaron (piano), Gary Raynor (Bass) and Phil Hey (Drums). Our jazz legends will
entertain all with music that they love, and discuss how their individual
journeys have become the musical history of Minnesota.

Patty Peterson states; “Our Minnesota Legends are living proof that
Jazz, which was born here in America, is still alive and thriving in Minnesota,
regardless of one’s age. By featuring these artists in this unique live
concert/radio format, we will learn what the musical environment was like in
the Twin Cities at the beginning of their careers, and how it has unfolded into
today’s jazz scene. The history and the stories of these artists will enlighten
young and old alike, and prove just how fortunate we are to have so many
incredible artists still residing in Minnesota, performing their craft.”

KBEM Jazz88 is honored to feature Minnesota Jazz Legends: The Elders, hosted
by Patty Peterson and to have their
music showcased on Jazz88. The performance will be
recorded for later broadcast, and will be archived for on demand listening at www.jazz88fm.com.

This production of Minnesota Jazz Legends is made
