Join author Lyz Lenz and former Mayor Betsy Hodges for an evening of conversation on Lenz's new book, God Land. Cocktails, light bites and mingling will lead off the event, followed by a discussion of the book between Lenz and Hodges. The conversation will culminate with a Q&A and book signing. God Land will be available for purchase at the event.
Lyz Lenz's book God Land explores faith, loss, and hope in the middle of America. In 2016, Lenz saw her marriage end, her church fail and her country fall apart. Her book investigates these changes, on a personal and national scale and asks if our personal and political divides can ever be bridged and if America can ever come together.
Betsy Hodges was the 47th mayor of Minneapolis. Mayor Hodges currently serves as an advisor to cities and mayors to improve equitable outcomes for people of color, she is a Fellow with the Atlantic Fellowship for Racial Equity (AFRE), and recently served as a Residential Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics.
Mayor Hodges is married to Gary Cunningham, President and CEO of Prosperity Now. They have two children, four grandchildren and two cats. You can find her on Twitter at @BetsyHodges, where she likes everything Lyz Lenz has to say.
